Sounds about right, the PS2 and ZBox will only have small budget games been released on them with an occational big name like Final Fabstasy and maybe F1 etc.
It will be interesting as to what the PS3 and 360 do with the sims, wounder if they will finally give the fans chance to build second floors and have children who grow up into adult sims.
I like the Sims and yes it would be nice to see them do something different with them. The PS3 and the Xbox 360 do have the programmers on their side to do it just wondering whats holding them back.
Knowing our luck they won't do much to the sims on console just add more pointless iteams like who the hell would buy a rat wheel when the tread mill does just aswell, the sims 2 on PS2 was a real disappiontment. The sims 2 pets was much more fun apart from the fact that there was no real goals or story line to the game just an open ended game. Like the original sims on the PC was.
Although the PC can pull that off with all the expansion packs they can make for each sims title, the consoles should have stuck to what was been asked of not what they thourght the fans wanted.
Yeah the counsol owners always make the wrong choices when it comes to make people happy. They seem to make more disappointments rather than setting things right the first time.Sometimes they make no sence in the choices they make in there choices when they redo a games for the system.
The problem with the gaming world is that sometimes they do not stop to think on how to improve the game and make it better than before they just make minior fix's and send it back out.
Yup that sounds right for the gaming world, i know that there many games and game developers that are like that, take the F1 franchise for example there loads of things they could do to improve the game like an F1 manager i know the PC has done this but consoles have never gone down that road and i don't know why.
They could do it say, your start your F1 carrer as a test driver for a small budget team and with time and practise you prove your worth more as a main driver than a test driver.
You then do as many seasons as you want but once you hit the age of 40 you retire and you could then buy a team and become a manager and you can stay as a manager for say 40 years.
I think this would make F1 games much more injoyable as there life after racing, look at Nascar total team control they have pulled it off in fight for the top mode, so it can be done just need a designer with the brains to think it up and make it.
There's many other games they can spice up aswell it just means sitting around and thinking, if designers did that then i think we would see amazing games. For another example how about taking all the vilonce out of GTA and making it play like the sims, now that would be cool.
True I think they fear the part of sittimg and thinking but it is part of their job and they should start updating alot of games out there to get them back on track but they won't and thats a shame but we will see what happens.
I remember why Sony was just getting ready to release the PS2, they promised they would look at some of the old clasic PS1 games and update them for the PS2 but they never did.
As for sitting down and thinking of ways to improve the games. That sounds like to much hard work for them.
