To get off to a good start in this brave new world, you need a fully functioning village without wasting resources.

You have to balance between producing troops and raising the levels of your village buildings.
This is vital for the proper function of your place.

Resources are the backbone of your village, without them you can build neither troops or buildings

Resource building levels
WOOD LEVEL 16
CLAY LEVEL 16
IRON LEVEL 15

This will give you a good basic start and you can add to your resources by farming, even at this early stage.

Warehouse
Adjust this to your personal needs, some can access their village more often than others. Do not waste resources by regularly letting your warehouse overflow! Resources are your life blood, if you can not access your village regularly, build a bigger warehouse.
LEVEL 6-8

Farm
Build up your farm, you should be aiming for at least 200-250 swords and spears at 500 points, you will not achieve this without increasing your farm level.

Village Headquarters
The higher the level of your HQ the quicker your buildings are completed. LEVEL 10 will allow you to build your stables.
LEVEL 7-8

Market
Use the market to exchange your resources, dont forget many players produce far too much iron early on. You can get good prices by exchanging clay or wood and buying in your iron.
LEVEL 3

Wall
Defence is important, especially in a new world. Your wall dramatically increases the defence capability of your soldiers. At 500 points this should be at least LEVEL 9

Barracks
As you grow you will need to increase your barracks dramatically, but at this early stage save your resources for producing troops not providing luxuries where they sleep! Level 5 barracks allows you to build your stables for those all important cavalry that are ideal farmers. Remember to recruit a balanced range of troops.

Smithy
Do not forget to research your troops, axes, scouts and cavalry!

For recruiting your light cavalry, really useful quick units for farming
LEVEL 3

Hiding Place
This is very much down to personal preferance, i myself never bother with this as its a waste of time but for someone who only has 1 village its worth building at least ontill you have 2 or 3 villages.
